June’s Theme: Natural Skincare

June was all about natural skincare! So many people struggle with skin concerns and as the skin is literally a map of the gut, it’s our largest organ of detoxification so any issue that shows up on our skin is a sign that all is not well with our gut.

This month was all about natural ways to support skin health; recipes to promote healthy skin, natural DIY products, guides to harmful chemicals, plus a free zoom workshop for members! I shared loads of great tips and ideas to help you to take control of your health from the inside out!

It’s not a one size fits all approach, we have to identify our own personal trigger foods, through a process of elimination, then avoid those foods which cause skin flare-ups. I have extremely sensitive skin and discovered a few years ago that I have an allergy to linalool, which is in literally every product containing fragrance, even natural products like essential oils and argan oil contain it! Knowledge is power and this led me to start making my own skin and hair care products, lots of them using kombucha, kefir and scobys, all supportive of skin health.

There are literally hundreds of chemicals used in skin care products, all of them damaging to the skin and gut, along with preservatives, emulsifiers, artificial perfumes and hormone disruptors. As I keep saying, knowledge is power, and once you know what to avoid and have the information you need, you can make informed changes that will benefit your personal health.

All the posts from each month will always be available to access on the exclusive private area of my website for members of The Wellness Hub; click here to find out more and join in the fun!
