July’s Theme: Super-charge Your Summer

In anticipation of some better weather this month, the theme is Supercharge your Summer! So this month over on The Wellness Hub we’re exploring how we can make summer even more delicious but still healthy and plant-filled!

Summer barbeques, al fresco eating, and spending minimal time in the kitchen is what it's all about! There is way more to salads than iceberg lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes!! Thinking back to our diversity challenge in May, I want to inspire you to eat the rainbow, add flavour and texture with nuts and seeds, and think outside the boring salad box!

Delicious dressings, edible flowers, all the greens, seasonal fruit, grains, oven roast veggies, heaps of herbs all make the most delicious and beautiful salads!

Cold potatoes, rice and pasta are high in resistant starch which our wee gut microbes love and salads can be made up and kept in the fridge for lunches and snacks throughout the day!

Food should look good as well as taste good and do our body good so I will be sharing lots of awesome salad combinations to keep you and your wee gut buddies in tip-top shape this summer, as well as some of my favourite BBQ recipes, all plant-based and delicious!

Less time in the kitchen means more time to spend in the garden absorbing all the healing rays and hopefully harvesting some homegrown veggies and herbs for your salads!!
