October’s Theme: Natural Remedies

So what a month September has been on The Wellness Hub; we had the privilege of, not just 1 but 3, expert guests sharing their wisdom about eating to beat disease! A huge thank you to Jordan, Laura and Sheena!

Autumn is well and truly here now; this is a time for letting go, reflecting and getting ready for the colder months ahead. Our focus for this month is the powerful Natural Remedies; as the seasonal bugs and viruses rear their heads and pose a threat to our health, we need the healing power of nature

Our expert guest this month is the most knowledgeable Lucie Bradley, a medical herbalist, with a wealth of experience in the field of herbal medicine. Lucie and I have co-hosted many workshops and she is as passionate about herbs as I am about fermented foods!!

Lucie will be joining us on Thursday 12th over on the FB group and sharing her top tips and favourite remedies to support our immune system over the winter!

We are most excited to be hosting our first ever Wellness Weekend at the beautiful Ardmay House in Arrochar this month, it’s going to be the best fun with delicious food cooked by our wonderful host Margaret Ritchie, a nutritionist and a member of our Wellness Hub!

We have cold water dipping in the loch, Qi Gong, singing, dancing, forest bathing, a natural skincare workshop, mindfulness meditation, storytelling, a book swap and plenty of time to get to know one another, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery! I will be providing an assortment of ferments, sourdough and probiotic treats so our wee gut buddies will be well looked after! We also have 2 of our members offering massage, reiki, and other relaxing treatments, so we have covered all the bases!

I seriously can’t wait!!

Fermented Garlic is nature’s antibiotic and should be in everyone’s cupboard. All of the ferments support our immune system so make sure to have a few on the go, there are many to choose from. Kimchi is a fast ferment and contains that wonderful trio, chilli, ginger and garlic so it fights inflammation as well as boosting our immune system and fuelling our wee gut buddies.

Foraging this month is all about the berries, terrific support for our immune system, elderberries, rosehips, hawthorn berries are still around so make the most of natures harvest while you can! We will also be focusing on delicious seasonal gut healthy food, and lots of warming, soups and casseroles to fuel us through the colder months!

My Souper Soups e-book can be downloaded for free from the Website which is a fab selection of my favourite soup recipes! There are also many natural remedies already on the website, so do check them out on the Holistic Health Section! Fire Cider is one of my favourites, I’ve linked the recipe below and I highly recommend getting a batch on the go!

So all in all another busy month full of things to look forward to! Thank you for being here and helping to build this amazing Wellness Hub Community!

In good health,
