November’s Theme: Healthy Festive Ideas

Well here we are at the end of another month, Halloween behind us and Christmas on the horizon!

November can be a bit of a manic month, self care goes out of the window as we focus on trying to get organised for Christmas. It’s important to remember to look after ourselves and eat well; as always, seasonal plant-based foods keep our gut buddies in good shape, and us in good spirits, so I’ll be sharing recipes to get you through the festive period.

My girls are all adults now and we don’t buy into the commercial side of Christmas, but we do enjoy delicious food and precious time together as a family, counting our blessings, of which we have many. Good health is always up there as the most important for me. We all enjoy making gifts, mostly foodie ones, which we really appreciate, being a food-obsessed family!

In my opinion, there is something special about a homemade gift that someone has taken the time to craft. Money is easy to spend, if you have it, but many of us will be struggling this year as the cost of literally everything increases. So, I’ll be sharing many homemade delights and some festive ferments, which if made in November will be perfectly fermented in time for the festivities! Although there are also faster ferments you can make, so fear not if you are a last-minute Nellie- I have you covered!

I’m taking part in https://www.healscotland.com/ Nourish November this month, with other experts, all sharing top tips and information to nourish ourselves throughout November. You can sign up using this link to access all the content, it’s free.

I am also hosting 2 Festive workshops at Soul Food Kitchen, on November 27th, which is a hands-on Festive Sauerkraut Masterclass, and Ferments with a Festive Twist on Sunday 4th December. Both these workshops are on Eventbrite, and can be booked now!
