May’s Theme: Creativity

The theme for May is Creativity.  This can manifest in a myriad of ways; creativity can be expressed through our food, our clothes, our homes and our thoughts. All of us have creative gifts and taking some time to hone them is a truly healthy thing to do. When life gets busy, our creative sides often get neglected so I’d like to challenge you all to tap into your own creativity this month, in whatever way feels right for you.

Food is my first port of call so I’ll be experimenting with all the colours of the rainbow; creating vibrant smoothies, salads and snacks by building layers of colour and texture, inspired by the wonder of plants. I’d also like to recreate my garden foccacia, lovingly decorated with herbs to make a little scene on the bread. It takes a while but that’s the joy of it; beautiful things are good for the soul, and creating beautiful things with your own hands is a special thing indeed. What would you like to create this month?

We’ll be having fun over on the FB group with challenges to keep each other motivated! Our guest this month is the wonderful Kim Flower @kim_creates who will be sharing some of her top tips for getting into our creative flow, using tea and coffee to create our own works of art!

This month I’m also excited for;

  • our Wellness Hub meetup at Soul Food Kitchen on Sunday 7th May. This is an opportunity to get to know one another over a leisurely and delicious lunch!  Just let me know if you would like to come, it’s in Glasgow’s west end so if you’re able to get there, we’d love to see you.

  • We also have an outing to the Sonic Den Soundbath in Giffnock, at 10am on Saturday 13th May, a brilliant way to unlock blockages, relax, reset and simply be for an hour, as the skilled and brilliant Tommy works his magic with all sorts of healing sounds. The cost is £15 and I can highly recommend it. We currently have 5 tickets available! Contact me if you’d like to come.

Hopefully, better weather is on its way so foraging and gardening will also be on the agenda this month! Planting up hanging baskets and pots with colourful plants is one of my favourite ways to get creative and herald the arrival of summer. It’s coming!

So lots to look forward to! Thanks for being here.

In good health,

Janice xx
