July’s Theme: It’s Juicy July!

So June has flown by! It’s been a month full of good things and good times.

  • I visited the isle of Raasay for the first time and met wonderful Hub member Tekela Koek, who is quite the inspiration! She helped to create the Walled Garden, a fantastic community-led initiative, growing all sorts of organic herbs/salads/veggies/fruit/flowers for the community. We saw a pair of sea otters, walked for miles and enjoyed the beauty and hospitality of this beautiful island! I'm excited to return at the end of July to host a workshop/demo with Tekela.

  • Our EVOO study group is still going strong and we are noticing all kinds of benefits, from glowing skin, weight loss, more regular bowel movements, less joint pain and feeling less hungry, making Intermittent Fasting easier to stick to. One of our members even noticed significant reduction in her blood pressure!  So we are just going to continue throughout July, and this is a practice I plan to adopt permanently! I recently signed up to Citizens of Soil, a brilliant initiative supporting women growers in various countries. It's a subscription with monthly deliveries of quality organic EVOO, all high polyphenol and excellent quality. Here is my code if anyone would like to sign up and receive £5 off.

Our theme for July is Juicing, and I am most excited to introduce you all to the Queen of Juicing, the fabulous Katrina Mather of the award-winning Body Toolkit Juicing Retreats!

I'll be chatting to Katrina over on the FB group on Thursday 4th July at 1pm, so check in to hear her words of wisdom about juicing, she has many amazing testimonials to share with us, and will be sharing a few of her favourite juice recipes too!

Her Juicing Retreats are exceptional, you really couldn't fail to feel better after a week in her company! As the name suggests, she has many tools up her sleeve to support health, it's not just about the delicious juices, but they are a vital part.

I will also be chatting to our very own Wellness warrior, the inspiring Lara Hendry, who completed a 100km trek in the Beacon Brecons last month to raise funds and awareness for Coppafeel, all about early detection of breast cancer. Jenna created an e-book to support Laras fundraising efforts, which you can still donate to and download here! I am chatting to Lara over on the FB group at 8pm on Monday 1st July, so come and join us as Lara shares her amazing experience with us!

We have our old VW Campervan called Bruce back on the road after a long 4 years and I cannot wait for the upcoming Scottish adventures! I’ve missed the simple joys of van life so much and I’m going to fully appreciate every second.

Oh - last thing! We have a meetup of members at Irvine Beach on Sunday 7th July at 11am, for a beach walk, dip in the sea and a picnic, weather dependent! And our wonderful May Riddell has kindly invited us back to her house for a wee meditation and cup of tea! I will share details over on the FB group so please come and join us if you are free!

Have a wonderful month and here's hoping the summer arrives!!

In good health,

Janice x
