Decembers Theme: Joyful Christmas

So here we are in December, the weather is suitably cold and frosty and the shops are full of festive gifts and blaring out the festive tunes!

I have all my girls home and the festive season for us is all about the food, shared experiences and just spending quality time together!

We are introducing a new tradition this year, we have just installed a wood-fired sauna and a wooden cold tub in the garden, so we will be making the most of both of them!! I am taking it easy this month and just enjoying quality time with my girls!

All my favourite festive recipes are on The Wellness Hub, if you haven't already then download my 2 Festive E books Celebration and Festive Treats and Nibbles for loads of great recipes and ideas.

I have been experimenting and trying out a few new ferments, Sproutchi is our new favourite, my festive take on Kimchi using Brussels Sprouts, only 7 days to ferment and it's absolutely delicious, so definitely give this a go!

This is the season to be prepared for unexpected guests so a bit of forward planning can make all the difference! There are so many fabulous recipes to choose from, all with our wee gut buddies in mind!  I always have a selection of wee sourdough Blinis, assorted dips, a stash of chocolate treats in the freezer,  delicious crackers, sourdough and of course a fridge full of vibrant ferments in all the colours of the rainbow!

It's also the time to get a bit creative so Sourdough baked in a Bundt tin makes a fabulous festive centrepiece or my fabulous Star Bread which can be made sweet or savoury, it's an absolute showstopper!!  We will be making lots of edible decorations and Christmas crafting which we all love, so keep an eye on the FB page for lots of cool and fun ideas, all with our precious planet in mind!!  An updated mindful gift guide is coming soon too.

We are hosting our first-ever Wellness Hub Christmas Lunch at Soul Food Kitchen, 50 of us gathering to enjoy delicious vegan food, get to know one another and have a jolly old time!

December is also my birthday and I'm heading off for a few days with Alastair to beautiful Perthshire! I feel incredibly grateful and i’m so looking forward to making this a festive season to treasure, for us and our wee precious gut buddies!!

Have a fabulous, fun and fermenty Festive season!

In good health,

Janice x
